Yahoo! Search Marketing announces new account structure

Yahoo! Search Marketing has just announced that significant enhancements to the Sponsored Search account structure are on the way soon.

Account upgrades will take place in the fourth quarter of 2006 and will introduce new terminology, and change the way that you manage your account: performance optimizations will be made at the account, campaign ad group or keyword/ad level, not at the listing level. Managing using ad groups will enable you to test different versions of your creative, and have more impressions shifted to those ads that provide you with the highest click-through rate!

What can you do to get prepared for the upcoming upgrade? If you haven't already, get your listings organized into categories. Categories will be converted to "campaigns" under the new system. If you have them all set up in advance, your new, upgraded account will be nicely organized the first time you login.

For complete details about the coming enhancements and upgrade to Yahoo! Search Marketing's Sponsored Search account structure, see the official release.
